Can Trucks Deliver a Cleaner Tomorrow?
The American Truck Association is making six recommendations aimed at scaling back fuel consumption. The six point plan forms a solid foundation to reduce the overall fuel consumption of the American economy. Some of these recommendations will spill over to the automobile industry.
The plan calls for a reduction of 86 billion gallons of gasoline and 900 million tons of CO2 over a 10 year period.
The plan calls for a governor to limit speeds on all trucks to 68MPH. The plan calls for action to reduce the national speed limit to 65 MPH.
